a TV actor who appears on power, law and order, and Boardwalk Empire A New York City man has been charged with murder in the broad daylight shooting of a New York City man on a Queens, New York City street.
Isaiah Stokes, 41, was charged Friday (July 16) with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in death. tyrone jones, 37, according to Queens Village Associated Press News.
Stokes, who lives in the neighborhood, was indicted on the three-count on Friday (July 16).
Surveillance footage purportedly shows Stokes exiting a vehicle near the intersection of Lyndon Boulevard and 200th Street in the afternoon, near the driver’s side window of a parked Jeep, and firing 11 shots.
EMS declared Jones brought dead upon arrival at the scene. A motive for the shooting is currently unknown, according to prosecutors.
“The defendant is accused of taking about eleven shots during the shooting this shameless afternoon,” Queens District Attorney Melinda Katzo said in a statement, according to NBC New York. “Gun violence is very prevalent in our neighbourhood. We will not let it become the norm.”
If convicted, Stokes faces anywhere from 25 years to life in prison. He is set to return to court on Monday (July 19).
