The teen who inspired the events of the 2017 horror film Veronica was actually 15-year-old Estefania Gutierrez Lazaro from Vallecas, a suburb of southern Madrid.

Estefania’s parents claim that the session took place at their daughter’s high school. She reportedly wanted to reach out to her friend’s ex-boyfriend, who had died in a motorcycle accident.
Friends watched the process, but then a nun stopped the session. The nun damaged the board, which some speculated led to a paranormal disruption.
However, it was reportedly too late for the nun to stop the capture that took place soon after.
