Navjot Singh Sidhu has reached the court of Mata Vaishno Devi after ending the hunger strike in Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday. Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu reached Katra, the base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi on Sunday, from where he left for Bhawan by helicopter at 1.30 am. Sidhu will sit in the aarti to be held in the building on Sunday evening and Monday morning and will seek the blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi. He will stay in the building overnight.
Navjot Singh Sidhu often comes to the court of Mata Vaishno Devi in the east, but this time his arrival here is a sign that he has returned after winning Lakhimpur Kheri. Sidhu sat on a hunger strike demanding the arrest of Minister of State for Home Ashish Mehra, accused of killing farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri. On Saturday, when the police arrested Ashish Mishra after interrogation, he ended his fast. Sidhu on Friday began a hunger strike at the house of journalist Raman Kashyap, who was killed in the incident. He ended his fast on Saturday evening and went straight to Katra.
Eight people, including journalist Raman Kashyap, were killed in this incident, including four farmers. Navjot Singh Sidhu has been in controversies for the past few days. As the President of Punjab Congress, no one hid the dispute with his former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. Under Sidhu’s pressure, Captain Amarinder Singh left the post of Chief Minister and also left the party. After this Channi was made the Chief Minister of Punjab, but after some time Sidhu resigned from the post of Punjab Congress President opposing Channi. However, Siddha’s resignation has not been accepted yet, and he is still the President of Punjab Congress.
