WATCH Video of Arizona State University White Students Goes Viral On Twitter and Reddit: A video went viral showing two women of colour confronting white students at Arizona State University and asking them to leave a multicultural space because one of the students had a “police lives matter” sticker.
The footage was uploaded on the Multicultural Solidarity Coalition’s Instagram page. On the group’s Instagram page, it states, “Read and sign our plan for the Cultural Excellence Center and its affiliate programmes and demands, including the defunding of ASUPD.” On that page, the video is no longer available. You may, however, view it below.
The second man wore a “Did Not Vote for Biden” T-shirt in the video, which was shot on September 23, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona.
“The Dean of Students Office is aware of the disagreement between a number of students that was captured in a video posted on social media,” ASU said in a statement to Heavy. The Dean of Students Office will meet with all parties involved to discuss it. More than 100,000 people from all 50 states and 150 countries make up ASU’s community. Differences of opinion are a normal feature of university life. In all exchanges, the institution wants respectful debate between students.”
The second man explained that she is telling them to leave the premises because they are making them uncomfortable; she continued to tell her that this is a multicultural space; she stated that the white man believes he can take up their space; she stated that this is the type of person they protect; she told him to repeat that being white is a culture.
The man then informs her that they will be sitting here the entire time; one of the women then informs her that they are not attempting to evict them, but that they are requesting that they leave if they have any special respect for persons of colour. This, according to the second man, is completely ridiculous. Since then, the video has gone viral on the internet.
